Merrick Begins Production on New $2 Million Press

Brings Total Investment in Last 24 Months to More Than $6 Million

Louisville, KY (July 14, 1998) -- The Merrick Printing Company has begun production on its newly-installed $2 million press. The new press brings the total investment in new equipment and facility improvements at Merrick in the last 24 months to more than $6 million.

With this addition, Merrick now has a total of three 6-color presses. The full color presses are efficient for multiple color, large quantity jobs, such as annual reports.

Other recent investments include a $500,000 Mueller Saddle-Stitcher, and nearly $4 million in digital print equipment, bindery equipment and leasehold improvements at its on-demand print facility, Digital Print Impressions (DPI), located in the RiverGreen business park.

"These investments continue to increase our capabilities that allow Merrick Printing to offer the highest quality commercial sheet-fed printing and on-demand digital production available in this region," said David Merrick, president.

The Merrick Printing Company is a full-service commercial printer providing premium print and electronic communications products, as well as digital information management for corporate and institutional customers. Through its subsidiary, Digital Print Impressions (DPI), Merrick meets the on-demand program needs of customers who want high-quality, short-run color and black-and-white jobs which save time and money.
