| The four louvered dormers were constructed of wood and clad
with copper. Each contained screened-copper louvers. Each contained ornamentation. At
the base of the spire there is a flat lock and soldered copper system providing water
tightness for the built-in gutter area. New heavy wall copper interior downspouts were
installed, each down approximately 60 feet, dumping onto two separate main roofing areas.
Copper ornamentation for scroll ornaments and finials was furnished to Merrick by the
W. F. Norman Corporation of Nevada, Missouri. |
